A Pain Only My Enemies Should Know

The dirt forced under my nail after picking weeks in the flower boxes is actually a splinter. Yes it hurts. I know understand why it's such and effective torture technique. Saw my awesome Doc today who will give me a local and try to remove it on Friday. I love a good South Africa doctor and its the first time he's done any procedure on me in the office aside from the think all Docs do to men at age 50. I don't consider that a procedure, however. That was just a bad first dat...e. I should have at least gotten a lollipop for the trauma of the glove.. Should be interesting and at least I will avoid any infection that could cost me the nail or the finger. This is why you see a Doctor when you need competent medical advice. The internet is garbage and Facebook is COLD and indifferent to the pain of others for the most part. I get it. We all got our own crap to deal with.

Good luck with the splinter removal. That kind of injury just gives me the willies.

I have a specialist who's South African. I adore him. One of the best doctors I've ever had.

Looks like you have a competent Dr., It'll be a little tricky trying to get it out in one piece but it should go well. If your Doc needs a second opinion, let me know. Looks painful. I kicked a barrel cactus when I was young and got something like that in my big toe. I can still feel it.

Yikes. It's like the pellets that were stuck in my head before I had them removed. I am very OCD about touching my fingernail as I was about touching the pellets under my skin.

How have you dealt with that for days?? I would be demanding Oxycontin or amputation after 20 minutes!

had one from my table a few months back... luckily the mouth pain (from extractions) "distracted" from the other pain...

Called it. You need to soak that shit in epsom salt though, it works wonders.

He may have to cut part of the nail away to get to it, that's always fun.

I think it might be a good idea Rob's advise and get a few Percocets after all.
No sense in dealing with pain with out a little chemical surcease.
