Comic Cover Of The Week
Gold Key produced some of the great covers during their heyday by combining drawn art with photography. Since the comics they produced were often based on TV shows or movie characters they had access to photos from those sources. 'Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea' was a great Irwin Allen show that I loved to watch with my Dad. Dad loved all that goofy science fiction. Allen also made 'Lost in Space', Time Tunnel, and 'Land of the Giants' on TV. In the 1970s Allen put out the great disaster movies 'Poseidon Adventure', 'Towering Inferno' and 'Earthquake'.

Somehow I missed these comics as a kid. Would have loved them, I am sure, as I loved most of those shows!
Look out for the octopi down under!
