Computer Problems From The Media Room Of The Cave Of Cool
I need some advice. Many of the shows that I download are wmv files that never can be played with either my vlc player or my tiger player or my player that comes with my computer. Does anyone have a good download that will fix this. I would again be much obliged for any help. I tried some file conversion programs but they don't work.

um..............
I don't download shows, so I am no help.
Downloading the K-Lite codec pack pretty much ensures that Windows Media Player will play ANYTHING. Works for me.
For conversion, I use ConvertXtoDVD. It turns ANY video file I put into it into a working DVD.
Email me if any of this comes close to what you need.
Probably is a codec thing.
Surprised VLC will not play it. I thought it played everything.
You might try Irfanview - you need the plugins to play video, but it will do most video types. It is freeware.
Very concerned you can't play WMVs though. I am assuming you are running Windows though. Are these torrents? You may have a virus.
