Breaking News: James Tucker is the new Supervising Producer of all DC Animated projects effective immediately as the previous Supervising Producer, Bruce Timm (one of the architects of the DC Animated Universe alongside Alan Burnett, Paul Dini, and later Dwayne McDuffie), is stepping down to work on other projects.
Mr. Tucker is also the director and producer of the upcoming DC Animated film Superman Unbound.
Of everything horrible that DC comics does these days I have nothing bad to say about their animated devision. The DC Nation shorts are nothing short of brilliant and have yet to hate on one of their animated full length features.

Tucker was a fantastic showrunner for Batman: Brave and the Bold, I'll be interesting in seeing what comes of his upcoming projects.
I haven't seen a lot of the more recent DC animated features, mostly because they're adaptations of stories that I've already read, and would appreciate some more variety in the lineup of their characters outside of the Superman-Batman sphere.
Superman and the Legion of Superheroes (year one) is pretty good and I liked Static Shock alot too.
I have mixed feelings about the Legion cartoon. It seemed to be struggling to find its identity. At first it seemed they were going the direction of more loose and kid-friendly kind of like the Teen Titans cartoon, but didn't really have as tight a character roster to pull it off. Season two tried to be more like Justice League Unlimited with a darker edgier feel, an arc story and a revolving door of supporting characters, but I while I liked a lot of the ideas they presented, I also felt they may have pushed things a bit too far.
I'd be very interested in a "Legion" feature to get a better understanding of the group as a whole. With over 50 years of continuity, there ought to be at least one great story to adapt.
Now if only the comic division could be more like the animated division,. That and oust Jim Lee.
Just be glad that DC Comics proper isn't in charge of the animated division, as I'm sure it would all be New 52 stuff... Although that can't be all bad... I'm rather enjoying the new take on Wonder Woman, and some of the new stuff in Superman.. Also liking the odder books like Animal Man, Swamp Thing, Frankenstein, etc... I think that was definitely one area that the comics part got right.
