I totally remember these toys and the comic book that were based on their adventures. Such beautiful pieces that slipped by me as I was in mourning over my lost childhood toy collection. There is not other reason for me NOT to have these. I would settle for reproductions considering the cost of originals in their boxes. They all have such cool weapons features also. I am sure finding one complete with all it's parts is next to impossible. Many of vacuum cleaner no doubt swept them up years ago.
Just look at the size of these toys when played next to a model (who I noticed AFTER first looking at the toys). You can also see Godzilla who was added to the toy and comic lines late in their runs.
For a TV show that only last one season, there were a lot of great Planet of the Apes toys made by MEGO in the mid-70s. They are of the same great design and quality as the other figures that MEGO produced like their superhero line and their Star Trek figures.
When the previously mentioned lines were recently reproduced, I had great hopes that some of the Ape toys from the 70s would get the same treatment. I guess the Planet of the Apes movie with Mark Walburg kinda scuttled that plan because the film was such a flop and the toys made for that film were not popular either.

i have a shogun figure, but it's action figure size and metal. i sure wish i had more.
Their size is insane. I love that their body parts can shoot out at other figures.

Always glad to help a fellow collector....
I just read that post. That is a good looking figure. The box is a little beat up but to have all the pieces is worth it. He looks beautiful.
Was never a Shogun fan, but watched that scifi collectors show for a while and this one guy had a very rare imported Shogun figure, worth thousands. Beautiful figs.
MAN, those Mego POTA figures and sets were so very, very cool. Even a farm kid like me could have set up awesome battles in around my house, much cooler than super heroes. I drooled for ANYTHING Mego back in those days.., I only had a smattering of WGSH figs I had to buy myself.
It was the cloth costumes that made Mego so great. Same reason I liked the original 12 inch Joes and Big Jim figures. Nothing 3 3/4 inches in size comes close.
