I would love to follow you around at convention to learn how to approached these cosplayers to get the great pictures you do. Like I have always said. I see A LOT of cosplay photos and I know you stuff because your style is like no one else and I appreciate that unique approach. I swear an album of your best stuff would be a huge seller. The close up detail is often the most amazing part of the whole image.

People are forced to make art where it inspires them.

Well. First of all... Of course I'm still a fan of the Cave of Cool. I visit every day. No exceptions.
But how I approach the cosplayers ---? I wait for my eye to catch something. Anything. Posed or not posed. If my eye for whatever possible reason focuses on someone in ANY WAY (as apposed to glancing past them), I nicely walk up and ask if I can take their picture. Its pretty much that simple. I do my best to bottle up all my shyness and apprehensiveness, but I totally embrace any empathy I may have in order to not bother people too much. Then I just try to capture all the stuff I'm seeing through the lens in the few seconds I have to take the pictures.

Its nice of you to say that my style is like no one elses. That is what I'm going for. Trying to capture these images in their unique natural habitat with my own eye. That's the point of it for me. Sometimes I guess I take a pretty nice pic.

And yeah, I like the close ups, too. If I can capture in the same image not only the Fictional Character, but also the Art of the Cosplayer AND a hint of the Actual Real Person hiding beneath all that, ALL AT ONCE, then I guess I've done my job.

Close-ups usually are the way to go if your looking for the real person somewhere hidden in there. :)

And yes a book or album of these pics is the ultimate goal. Still working on it. Thank you. I'll send you a copy for free if it ever happens!! No joke. :)

As always, a pleasure talking with you.
