Obi-Wan Kenobi

Ten years after Order 66 killed nearly all the Jedi in the Galaxy we catch up with Obi-Wan Kenobi, one of the few to survive the attack. He is living on Tatooine and watching over the young Luke Skywalker while being hunted by the Empire by a group called the Inquisitors. One of them has a real obsession with Kenobi who she believes is still alive.

I watched this one with the same joy and amazement that Disney has brought back to the Star Wars Universe with the Mandalorian and the Book of Boba Fett. It feels like those heady days in the 70s when NEW HOPE was the only Star Wars movie we had. That universe is now full to brimming with canon that only those deep into the lore of Star Wars can keep up with. Going back to those lost years of Kenobi is the perfect way to continue a story that I always wanted to see told.

Luckily Disney provided two episodes to start this mini-series and I absorbed them fully tonight. One would never have been enough for such a tale. The creators grew up in the same Star Wars Universe that I grew up in right from the start and it shows. The whole show is quite a revelation.

Ten years after dropping Luke with his Aunt and Uncle, Obi-Wan lives a lonely life far from the adventures he used to have until a former Jedi finds him in the desert. Kenobi reminds him that the Jedi LOST the war and their time is OVER and in truth he believes that. But soon Kenobi is brought back into the fight.

Many great characters arrive in the first episode but I won't spoil that for you.

I found the whole thing to be thrilling and I have a new Friday show. If you are a Star Wars fan then you shouldn't miss it either.
