'Smallville" lost my interest about 4 seasons back because it took too long to get to the myth of Superman. I found it to be very gloomy and not the fun kind of ennui that I enjoy. If even one episode could have evoked the emotions that this preview clip does, I would be watching still.

It was too soap opera-ish. I lost interest after season 3. If they had stayed with their original plan of just doing 5 seasons and making a complete story, I think it would have been better.
I felt the same way - too much filler and not enough thriller.
