Voyage To The Bottom Of The Sea

I loved this show as a kid. It doesn't stand up as well today because of how goofy it could be but for Little Calvin it was awesome. I especially liked the 'Flying Sub' because it looked like a giant Manta Ray and could take the crew to places that the 'Sea View' couldn't reach.

My brothers & I grew up on that show (and Jonny Quest)! We were devastated when they cancelled. The old episodes have turned up on the Internet -- Hulu, maybe? It's fun to go back and see the recurrent themes of radiation and world domination, and how the Seaview crew saved the world every week. I don't recall if there was a cephalopod theme. But cancelling certainly couldn't have helped such matters.

I remember the Lobster Man and a bunch of aliens. Being a submarine show they would have been neglectful not to have some giant octopus attack them at some time.

I vaguely remember watching one episode from my vantage point of cowering behind the couch. It must have been a great show.

Sadly Illustrator George Wilson doesn't care for the Seaview like you do:

I am going to assume that those fine marine mammals are under the mental control of the evil cephalopods. Those actions are so out of character for whales and dolphins anytime.

Used to watch this show too and i thought it was great. I saw both of these models at a comic book shop when i went to visit a friend of mine up state and they brought back some good memories for me. : )
