I always thought these two movies told the same story because many of the same actors are in both. Jack Elam is the best of the all though. He plays such a great cowboy bum and he is the perfect sidekick for the great James Garner.
I am also looking for another Garner movie - 'Castaway Cowboy'.

Loved those movies. James Garner was hard not to like. Jack Elam was one of the greatest character actors. He occasionally played a real bad guy in a non-comedy and he did that great too.
My husband just watched those two movies on TV. I've seen them lots of time because they are so funny. Yeah, they are alike.
