Good Time To Be In The Hoodie Business
Illinois Rep. Bobby Rush took the symbol of the Trayvon Martin protests from the street to the Capitol on Wednesday, getting ejected from the House floor for wearing a hoodie.
I don't know about a country that doesn't allow hoodies in their lower legislative house. What is so threatening? OKAY, it looks bad. The symbol is bad. Looking like every other thug is not appropriate battle gear in the jungle. What is next to be demonized? baseball caps? urban footwear? This is about a powerless minority exerting some control over what they choose to wear. I wouldn't be surprised if someone was making money selling hoodies with a target stenciled on them. That's not irresponsible, that's just good business. Land of the free, home of the brave.

The unabomber wore a hoodie...*gasp*
Well, I know it's not appropriate to wear a hat in a federal building, and I imagine a hood would fit into the same rule.
I think it was because it was a gray hoodie. C'mon! Nobody wears gray. That's stupid. Pick a color already, you wishy washy politician! No wonder they threw him out.
