Individual Cast Photo Set Of The Day
I really want to see this one just to see how horrible it could possibly be. I am personally hoping for another 'Beetlejuice'. People hate Tim Burton for a number of reasons but you can rarely fault his casting decisions. This movie is no exception. I'd like to think that so many talented people wouldn't sign onto this one without a really strong script.

You can't fault his casting because he casts the same people in just about every movie. Personally Cal, I'm tired of Helena Bonham Carter. Besides, she stole her name from John Bonham, late drummer for Led Zeppelin.
I don't hate Tim Burton. In fact during my high school years I loved the guy's work. However I think it was some time after "Ed Wood" he reached some sort of peak in his career and ever since then his films have been rather homogenous. It certainly doesn't help matters that all of his movies since then have been either adaptations or remakes which drains that image I had of him as an "inventive, original filmmaker"
I got excited when he did "Big Fish" because it was something different with a Country Cooked Fantasy rather than his typical gothic piece, but it doesn't seem to have stuck.
I would love for this to be a great picture, but I continue to have my doubts, especially with these posters. The bleached portraits against gradient pastel colored backgrounds are identical to the style used in the posters for "Alice in Wonderland" and "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory", and the repeated gimmick isn't inspiring confidence in being anything really "new".
I have no preconceived notion about this movie, since I have never seen "Dark Shadows" (although I do wish I had been alive to enjoy it back then). That said, I am hoping for a great flick!
I appreciate you opinions Eric. For some reason your emails don't show up in my hotmail inbox. If I don't reply it could be that I din't see the comment.
Shut your mouth, Dr. Goat! Helena Bonham Carter is one intoxicating woman, and even if she did steal her middle name it only adds to her mystique!
Pistols at sunrise, Sir, or I'll damn you for an Ooompa Loompa!
I am a huge fan of the original (which exists to be viewed on Netflix Instant for anyone interested), but I didn't think this would be quite so "slap stick" styled.
The trailer plays like The 90's Addam's Family movies, with a twist of Naked Gun in there. That is the absolute LAST THING I expected from this one. But with a killer cast and the love that Burton has for the original show, he must have some well calculated plan.
For the record, I also love MOST of Burton's work, especially Beetlejuice & Big Fish. Two of my all time faves!
If the goofy stuff is mixed with some great action and vengeance then it would work.
If it'll make peace, I retract my statment. If not, see you at sunrise. It seems I traversed on sacred ground here. I forget the generation gap sometimes.
Both of you are pretty...there is lots of Tim Burton hate to go around and Helena can be a little one note. Loved her in The King's Speech however.
I agree. Anyway, what ever way that duel went, the world would lose another Jethro Tull fan. We can't have that.
Yes, the two of you that are left as fans need to be preserved in Carbonite. I really always thought Jethro Tull was a guy in the man but wasn't he some midievil inventor or something.
I think he was instrumental in inventing the plow or something.
Jethro Tull invented the Horse Drawn seed drill. And the Rock and Roll flute.
Very well, Dr Goat, We'll call it a draw. The world cannot afford to lose two such Jethro Tull afficiandos such as us.
Imagine, fighting over a woman, even if it was Helena. Pish tosh! I feel silly now. Still honour is satisfied even if we are too old to rock and roll but too young to die.
