That is so cool. Can't you just imagine Lorre saying that - in that great voice of his? You just know he was half-kidding but half serious at the same time. Beautiful. Thanks for Brother Darius for posting this gem on Tumblr.

I think my father knew I would start a Monster Cafe. He told me that Peter Lorre story when I was a boy....Several times.
Love it.
Peter Lorre also convinced Humphrey Bogart to marry Lauren Bacall despite their age difference, saying "five good years are better than none."
The man may not have had the classic Hollywood look but he was plenty smart.
