The Good Old Days Weren't Always Good
When American children were issued dog tags.In 1952 the city of New York bought and issued 2.5 million dog tags to children from kindergarten to fourth grade, soon San Francisco,Seattle, Las Vegas and Philadelphia followed.The tags were to identify the bodies in case of a nuclear attack, tattooing the children was also considered.

I've been seeing fear mongering news reorts on the stress and paranoia people feel today about terrorism and how unusual it is and I can't help but think "How have these dolts forgotten about Nucelar War?".
I remember someone coming to our school and telling us to cover our heads with wet newspaper to soak up the fallout. I was then I knew I would be fucked. And I grew up about 4 hours from Minot North Dakota at the time. That place was going to be any Soviet strike's first target because it was stacked with missiles. The base was the center of the area. And we would get fallout if the winds were blowing in the right way.
Oh, Minot! We used to go cross-border shopping there!
