I wonder why don't just use the original English covers and just change the lettering. I bet it has something with keeping the original Marvel artists Like Jack Kirby from making a dime off their original art. This stuff is really often just cheap imitations of the great originals. But they have a certain charm. I would read it if I was in a foreign country while waiting for the train.

Well, not so much "foreign versions" as "French versions."
When I was in Italy back in the 90s, I picked up a couple of Marvel issues. They did make good reading to pass the time on the train. They were in Italian, but I knew just enough to get the drift of the text. They didn't have the alternate lettering. It was just like here in the states, but in Italian.
