aside from hating idw's ROM reboot it seems we have another mutual loathing. ever wanted to see trump as a dire wraith? http://romspaceknightart.blogspot.com/2016/11/a-doctor-strange-review-quickie.html#comment-form
in regards to some replies you left me on a previous posting i never got back to you on. i'm not at all a guardians of the galaxy fan (both the movies and in the comics) so if ROM ever appeared in a future GOTG movie it wouldn't be a big deal to me plus i'm sure the cinematic reinterpretation of the him would hardly be The Greatest of The spaceknights i used to know. if it's the Parker Brothers doll you were talking about i used to have it a long time ago but i have no desire to own it again.
I think Rom exists at a time when he was at his best. He could interact with a smaller group of characters that Marvel had and like Firefly I choose to remember him and enjoy him from those times. Rom means a lot to me. I am sure I have told you the story of my pen pal from a V.A. Hospital who saw my addy in a letter I wrote to ROM. This was before the Internet. We became friends. After he died he sent me a box with the first fiftly ROMS in mint condition, bagged and boarded.
i think there was potential to still have ROM in the current Marvel Universe. but not necessarily as a spaceknight but most definitely as the prime minister of Galador with a new generation of spaceknights being in the thick of things under his direction. he and Brandy wouldn't even have to be in the spot light but at least they'd be present some how instead of all this vague innuendo about ROM's where about as we've seen for the past 15 years. oh well it is what it is. i think you had a posting about that letter and the veteran right?
I forever stand vigilant to protect this planet from the myriad of forces that are always against us. Be it the octopus, zombies, aliens or the robots my team of human agents, and our feline allies, circle the globe in a never ending struggle for human freedom.
I learn all I can on every subject that interests me. I especially enjoy ancient history because in the past there are valuable lessons to be found. Also, if I ever get my time machine to work properly, it would be good to know a bit about possible destinations and what to expect when I get there.
I greatly appreciate beautiful design. Be it manufactured or found naturally I am fascinated by the process of invention. I am attracted to the unique, the strange, the haunted. I like to share what I find on this blog.
And not let us forget the 'Cephalopod Menace' who, if allowed to, would wrap their tentacles around all that is good and pure in this life and crush it until it remained no more. They are creatures of pure spite. Hate is all they know. Death is all they do. They are our most ruthless and determined enemy.
So we fight. Selena has the celebrity contacts, the cat is ruthless and without pity, Roosevelt's ghost has the experience and I do the wetwork.
Fighting for the future of the planet doesn't have to be a chore, however. We can take the time to appreciate all that is cool in this world even as we cut the octopus into bite sized chunks.
This is the reason there has always been and must forever be, a Cave of Cool. Be sure to wipe your feet before you enter.

I did do that post. And I like your idea about ROM having to create a whole new team of Spaceknights.
