Someone says they are not racist because they are bears.
Do these look like BEARS to YOU?
What is their racist history?
Bears don't racist history.
I just learned that Wog is a derogatory term for a black person.
This isn't looking bad for these two tap dancing song and dance men.
If they are white entertainers in blackface.
Not cool.
Blackface Not Cool.
They aren't racist. They are only considered racist by liberals and overly PC people purely because they weren't made exclusively for little black children to play with. If they had been made with black children solely in mind, then it would be all a-ok. For instance - there are now Muslim dolls - but they are in no way considered racist. Why? Because they are made with Muslim children in mind.
If anything, I think they actually promote NON-racialism. At least little Jenny wasn't playing with all white dolls. And as for what someone else said, about how they have exaggerated features (i.e. big lips), I think they are depicted fairly accurately. Isn't it true that a lot of coloured people DO have larger lips? What did they expect, black skin and white features?

So what do you all say?
Racist or not?

I'm leaning toward racist. My opinion.
Cal, you have to check out Alan Moore's use of Gollywogs in The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen (if you haven't already). Starting, if I remember right, with the "Black Dossier."
I will check that out. The hole just goes deeper.
