Rod Serling, creator of the Twilight Zone, was involved in a script rewrite of a 1968 film based on Pierre Boulle’s book “Monkey Planet.” Eventually the film, “Planet of the Apes,” became a major hit and spawned a film franchise with four sequels, two television shows and a remake film in 2001.
But what if – instead of the film being released in theaters – it was instead condensed into an episode of Serling’s classic TV drama The Twilight Zone?
Well, some YouTube genius did just that. He took the original Planet of the Apes film, converted it to black and white, edited it down to 26 minutes (plus time for commercials), mashed in some Twilight Zone music and graphics and a Rod Serling intro, and created the lost Twilight Zone episode, “Planet of the Apes.”

Finally a mashup that is working with me!
Some Youtuber? These are from my Vimeo page. My name is Salvatore Sebergandio. Thank you for making this page. I come from the area as Rod Serling and have always loved the apes.
