In 1987 I was in University in Edmonton. My roomie and I would watch MTV all the time. When this video first came on we both looked at each other like two dumbasses who just discovered music for the first time. South Africa was in the news all the time back in the day and we all understood how special and rare it was to see a white man and a black man dancing together because that kind of 'mixing' was verboten. I had to learn more about these guys and their music and their message. That was Johnny's hook. He didn't just want to entertain you, but he wanted you to educate you as well. He had as much to do with transforming his country as anyone involved in the struggle. And he did it all with a message of hope and not hate. He is the example to follow and he makes me wish I was a better man. I will miss him all the days of my life.

Three tribute posts to Johnny Clegg is not too much.
I don't think so. I just post what I am interested in on any given day.
