I have had these two models for decades. When I was exiled to Pinawa Manitoba during two summers, as a tween, these models saved my life. I had something to do in a cool basement after nearly drowning every morning during lake swimming lessons. Pinawa also has a nuclear science research center so the town was a manufactured community with everything the workers needed. Very strange place. Everything was new unlike an army base. Only three channels on the TV too. That really was the wilderness.
I still have these in package, waiting to be made.
But I will just end up sniffing the glue.

Is the Pinawa nuclear reactor still operating or did it get phased out? Can't remember now.
I was fascinated by these kits as a wee kiddie, only seeing them in adverts (and having no technical aptitude anyway for building them).
But what stories they conjured in my brain though :)
I know. I want to build these so much, again. They really did save my summers by giving me projects to finish.
I am not sure if they shut it down or not, Debra. I just know it was like Raccoon City where bad experiments were going on underground...experiments that needed power, lots of hydroelectric power.
