Ant-Man And The Wasp - Quantumania

I went into this one hoping to escape the 'Marvel Formula' that dictates how this CGI heavy movie would tell it's story. I was hoping for some surprises but found nothing more than a bloated adventure that slavishly follows that tired MCU formula. For the first time I was bored with the MCU and it's dark CGI. 

The plot of the movie was also a slave to what came before with a major battle between everything and the kitchen sink taking up the third act. If I see one more battle between large forces of good and evil I will go off my nut. It's not that it's necessarily a bad movie but it's a boring and sloppy movie with absolutely nothing at stake despite the fact that the bad guy can destroy entire universes. We know our heroes will be safe no matter what is thrown at them.

I did like the portrayal of M.O.D.O.K who for a mechanism only designed to kill he is pretty crappy at his job. He is more of a strange joke as the character often was in the comics. How can you take him seriously given the way he looks?

This one is one you can wait to come on one of the streaming services. Like Thor - Love and Thunder it treads familiar ground that you have seen a thousand times before. After films like RRR and Everything Everywhere All At Once I guess I have less tolerance for the cookie cutter approach of this phase of the MCU. I hope this is not what we can expect from Guardians of the Galaxy when it gets released this summer but I have my doubts at this point. For completists only.
