I went into this one hoping to escape the 'Marvel Formula' that dictates how this CGI heavy movie would tell it's story. I was hoping for some surprises but found nothing more than a bloated adventure that slavishly follows that tired MCU formula. For the first time I was bored with the MCU and it's dark CGI.
The plot of the movie was also a slave to what came before with a major battle between everything and the kitchen sink taking up the third act. If I see one more battle between large forces of good and evil I will go off my nut. It's not that it's necessarily a bad movie but it's a boring and sloppy movie with absolutely nothing at stake despite the fact that the bad guy can destroy entire universes. We know our heroes will be safe no matter what is thrown at them.
I did like the portrayal of M.O.D.O.K who for a mechanism only designed to kill he is pretty crappy at his job. He is more of a strange joke as the character often was in the comics. How can you take him seriously given the way he looks?

Once Marvel got away from the origin stories and plot arcs of the original superheroes/Avengers, it got lost in endless CGI battle spectacles. I agree -- BORing. They need to get back to character-and-emotions-driven story lines.
Thank you both for confirming my suspicions. The commercials make this look like a CGI-fest... which just leaves me bored now. I still need to catch up with Wakanda Forever. Just feeing burnt out on mediocre superhero movies these days (or perhaps the novelty has finally worn off)... :/
