The Bridge
Aaron Douglas from 'Battlestar Gallactica' stars in the new Canadian police drama called 'The Bridge'. He plays Frank Leo, a hard drinkin' street cop who gets drawn into the city web of corruption and politics as the new head of the police union.
I like shows that get all twisted into conspiracies and alliances that can't be trusted. Especially when you have a good guy to root for at the center of it all.
Everyone looks to Frank for leadership and guidance. This of course places him in the cross hairs of his superiors and the corrupt internal affairs division. In the pilot, IAD has no problems using a case of cops robbing drug dealers to get Frank even though he has nothing to do with the crime.
Frank, however is not alone. He has the 'brotherhood' of fellow cops to back him and a smart female lawyer (Ona Grauer) who works for the city. She, like Frank is principled and wants to see justice done.
I like how Frank is not all good. His response to another cop who is working against him for IAD is selfish and cruel.
Aaron Douglas is very good and very watchable as Frank. Stewart Magolin plays his father and the two have a nice chemistry. If you live outside of Canada you can see this show on CTV.com and I hope you check it out. I enjoyed it

FYI. If you live outside of Canada you can't watch The Bridge on CTV.com. It's country locked :(
WHAT THE HELL!!!! I thought only the U.S. did that. It's evil and wrong I tells ya. Thank you bit torrent. I feel less bad about all the stealing now that I know the conspiracy afoot.
I want to watch this show so badly! The Chief is probably one of the coolest human beings on the planet.
(He's probably even cool enough to read your blog and not comment on it. Which, alas, sadly, I am not. I've never known when to keep my mouth shut, even for the sake of coolness. And yes, I am commenting into the future.)
he plays another union leader ?
Guess he's typecastalenabi
You got him beat Amy. Also remember that he will NEVER look as good in the Batgirl outfit like you would.
I like the way you got two comments into one post. See, that kind of thinkin' I can DEAL with.
Yep, this is a damn great show. The lawyer is getting to be quite recognizable as she has been in many canadian shows such as The Border and Intelligence as well as being Artemis in Percy Jason and The Lighting Thief.
