Cool Julian Briones Sculpture

I hate that there are so few of these kind of things for sale. Such an iconic character from my life and barely nothing like this available for purchase.

I always understood Bill Watterson's distaste for merchanising, but surely he could have allowed tasteful items, like these. Maybe he saw a world full of Calvin peeing on the Ford logo or whatever, but it didn't have to be that way. A Hobbes plush or a figurine like this? Why on Earth not?

I used to have that huge Calvin and Hobbes collection that came out years ago....

Calvin and Hobbes is the best!

Y'know guys, I've never been able to get a picture of this sculpt or a letter through to Bill Watterson. His management and their offices are experts at throwing you off the trail. I'd love to send this statue to him, but I know it will never get within 100 feet of him.
It is still, even after the last couple of years, my favourite sculpt.

WOW, the actual sculpter writing a comment on my site. That is hela cool.

I agree with you all. If not for his enrichment then why not a nice charity like a children't hospital. And only a few approved figures. Who doesn't want a plush Hobbes to put that kind of dreamy hope in a baby's cradle?
