I Can Watch This Festival All Day Long

Casteller from Mike Randolph on Vimeo.

In the city of Tarragona, Spain, castellers gather every two years to see who can build the highest, most intricate human castles. This uniquely Catalan tradition requires astonishing strength, finesse, and balance. Not to mention courage.

My heart lept into my throat when I saw the first group collapse!

How incredibly neat, I can't imagine the pressure the people on the bottom feel once the top is all set up. They've gotta feel like diamonds by the time it's over.

I would be on the bottom but there is no way I am climbing up to the top.

That's amazing. Those little kids aren't scared at all. Watching some of them fall, I guess people could get badly hurt. Looks like fun though.

That is why the people are surrounding the towers, to catch anyone that falls. I am sure they have perfected how to fall so they can minimize any damage.
