Doctor Who Season Eight, Episode 2

I want to see the Doctor work alone from Clara for a little bit. He needs some time to grow into the character without more than the usual baggage that comes from Clara hanging around. Things still feel weird because I can already feel Clara pulling away from the whole adventure with the Doctor. She feel bored with him, if that makes any sense. And they have introduced a non-Doctor love interest to give her another reason to choose the normal life. She would be the first one who could make that choice freely while not under the romantic spell of the Doctor. His reaction to another person who asks to go with him is a great Doctor Who moment and gives you another layer on the onion. This episode was a mixed bag. The idea of a 'good' Dalek has been done better on Star Trek with Seven of Nine but there is much fun to be had with the 'Fantastic Voyage' concept.

Thought it was good, but yeah, Clara needs to keep some distance. Let the doc find out who he is first.

I haven't seen this episode yet - here in NZ we're running an episode behind - so I haven't read your post for fear of seeing a spoiler. I took my Dad to see the first one at the movies. We had a ball and I like the new Doctor. There's a bit too much puffery around him but I'm sure it'll calm down as the series runs on. I also thought Clara finally got a chance to do something more than just flirt with Matt Smith. :)

I think that is why Jenna is frustrated. They haven't really found a way to use her that works.

When he said that shrinking down would be a fantastic idea for a movie I said at the TV. "No a fanastic idea would be to put Racquel Welch in a latex skinsuit and make a movie around that!"

You were always the hippest kid in the room. Did he say Fantastic Voyage in that episode. I don't remember. That would have been a cute throwaway line.
