Fantastic addition to the Star Wars Universe. I remember this was first shown in 3 minute segments over several nights back when it first came out. I am watching it much the same way today. The animation style is remarkably fluid and effective as is the music and other sound effects. Combined together they tell a great story of the Clone Wars - one even more imaginative and thrilling than the motion pictures to be sure. There are often sequences that go on for minutes without any conversation. I found those parts the most mesmerizing. There are dozens of characters to follow here and each get their moment.
For once we got to see individual Jedi fight their own personal battles within the context of the larger war going on around them. Those characters and ideas were built upon when the also excellent Clone Wars TV show was released a few years after this one.
Star Wars: Clone Wars is an American animated microseries created by Genndy Tartakovsky, set in the Star Wars universe.
Chronologically, the series takes place during the three-year time period between the prequel films Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith. The show follows the actions of various characters in the Star Wars prequel trilogy, including Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Yoda, and other Knights of the Jedi Order during the conflict, leading the clone trooper forces of the Galactic Republic against the battle droid armies of the Confederacy of Independent Systems and the Sith.
The series was produced by Cartoon Network Studios in association with Lucasfilm Ltd., and was aired both online and on Cartoon Network in 25 chapters from 2003 to 2005. The first two seasons, comprising Volume One, were produced in a two to three minute "micro" format, while season three was produced as fifteen minute episodes making up Volume Two. Both volumes were later released on home video edited as feature length films. Since release, it has received critical acclaim and was ranked 21 on IGN's Top 100 Animated Series list.

I love this series, I wish they would have made more. anything by tartakovsky is genious.
have you been watching star wars rebels? the characters are pretty cool and the master / padawan dynamic is present so that's good. what I like best is the heavy mcquarrie influence, right down to the skinny lightaber blades, hope it does well and gets a few good seasons.
It should. It's got the same team that did Clone Wars working on it and the animation has been streamlined to put them out faster. It's all about product which is good for us fans of the Star Wars Universe.
Very stark and streamlined. When this came out it gave me hope that Star Wars could be saved after the abysmal Attack of the Clones.
