Well, that may be over the top but our regular programming sucks. Big time. And the banks and corporations do indeed tell the government want to do. Hell, we have a president elect that is a corporation. Our politicians do make a move without checking which entity gave them the most money. The people aren't even part of the equation anymore.
It may not be perfect -- probably less so now than ever -- but it's no more corrupt than any other national government in the free world -- and FAR less corrupt than every one of the innumerable dictatorships and oligarchies throughout much of "the rest of the world." So, look in the mirror "rest of the world" before declaring your vast moral superiority.
And I agree, direct resistance to an occupying foreign force is not necessarily terrorism -- but when that "resistance" consists of bombing or shooting up innocent, non-combatant men, women, children and the elderly, who are just at the marketplace buying fruit, or sitting at a Paris restaurant having a meal, or dancing in a nightclub, or traveling through an airport, or who just went to work that day before one of you assholes flew a plane into their office window -- that IS terrorism and I don't give a fuck what the fucked up political or religious justification is for it. THEY are NOT the "Occupying Force" and THOSE people weren't doing shit to you. THEY were the ones who wanted to live in peace and to live happily with their families. And YOU took it away from them. And then you DARE get pissed because our government and military retaliates. So don't lecture me about how such "resistance" is all in the name of peace and being left alone while you target our innocent civilians. In most instances, those allegedly "small and helpless countries" (and I'd love to know who THOSE might be since none of the countries in which the U.S. military is present are both) are only being "occupied" because they fucked with us or one of our allies first.
And the media sells propaganda and lies? Some do, but ALL of it? More than any other country's media? And I suppose that all those countries with state controlled media are bastions of truth? Give me a break!
My point is the U.S. doesn't have a monopoly on ANY of this, and it's ridiculous to think that if we were gone tomorrow that the world would somehow become a Utopia. We WERE isolationists a few decades back - minding our own business. That all changed when Japan decided to attack us without any justification and Europe almost burned to the ground for eight years under the onslaught of a violent fascist regime -- at least until we stepped in and helped out.
We ALL need to learn to live together in peace and live happily with our families. So please wake up "rest of the world" and do YOUR part to make that happen. I can see this, so why can't you?
I forever stand vigilant to protect this planet from the myriad of forces that are always against us. Be it the octopus, zombies, aliens or the robots my team of human agents, and our feline allies, circle the globe in a never ending struggle for human freedom.
I learn all I can on every subject that interests me. I especially enjoy ancient history because in the past there are valuable lessons to be found. Also, if I ever get my time machine to work properly, it would be good to know a bit about possible destinations and what to expect when I get there.
I greatly appreciate beautiful design. Be it manufactured or found naturally I am fascinated by the process of invention. I am attracted to the unique, the strange, the haunted. I like to share what I find on this blog.
And not let us forget the 'Cephalopod Menace' who, if allowed to, would wrap their tentacles around all that is good and pure in this life and crush it until it remained no more. They are creatures of pure spite. Hate is all they know. Death is all they do. They are our most ruthless and determined enemy.
So we fight. Selena has the celebrity contacts, the cat is ruthless and without pity, Roosevelt's ghost has the experience and I do the wetwork.
Fighting for the future of the planet doesn't have to be a chore, however. We can take the time to appreciate all that is cool in this world even as we cut the octopus into bite sized chunks.
This is the reason there has always been and must forever be, a Cave of Cool. Be sure to wipe your feet before you enter.
