I choose the Kotobukiya Bishoujo figures for my most pricey collectible character statues because with so many good companies out there who do amazing work, you have to commit to one line and one creator and really become knowledgeable about what you are collecting. I was looking for a line of statues that I could get excited about and collect them only because they were quality pieces made in Japan. These are statues made of PVC plastic which really holds the bright colors. They have no articulation but I admire them for that and for being such adorable representations of the female comic book characters that I love. Hell, they even made a Spider-Gwen and a Squirrel Girl. Currently I have 25 from this line. Here are only a few examples.
I really like this one of Batman and his closest allies from Q-Masters. I can see this one doubling from it's $199 dollar price once it hits the secondary market. It would display fantastically in a Batman fan's glass case.
I like the way the kids are small and shows them as Batman sees them. They are really his children who all together make a family. I especially like the way they positioned Batgirl and made her the one that Batman is smiling at. She is the one he is most proud of afterall. They also perfectly captured the characters of Nightwing, Tim Drake, Damien Wayne and Jason Todd.
From Quantum Mechanix. Batman, the ultimate loner, is paradoxically all about family. That's what QMx Creative Director Mohammad Haque endeavored to capture in this figure, titled simply Family, and the result is the biggest, most detailed figural diorama QMx has ever made: the first in a new series of large format dioramas called Q-Master! The figure stands over 15 inches tall and features six different characters! It encompasses the entire history of Batman's relationships in crime fighting, including all his various proteges. Each sidekick is represented in this piece, with their positioning and expressions reflecting their personalities and relationships with Batman! The figure is cast in a proprietary high-temperature polyresin developed by QMx called Everstone which offers discerning collectors everything they look for in a high-quality figure: great durability, precise detail and solid weight that resists fading and fracture! Family is a limited edition figure and will come with a numbered Certificate of Authenticity signed by it's creator, Mohammad Haque. It will ship in a specially designed collectors box to perfectly protect the diorama.
