Our Flag Means Death First Trailer

 

HBO Max has released the first amusing teaser trailer for Taika Waititi’s upcoming pirate comedy series Our Flag Means Death. The series follows a dysfunctional band of pirates as they embark on a series of adventures on the open sea. The story is set in the early 18th century and loosely based on the true adventures of Stede Bonnet (Rhys Darby), who is described as “a pampered aristocrat who abandons his life of privilege to become a pirate.” Bonnet was a moderately wealthy landowner who later turned to a life of crime as a pirate. During a mid-life crisis, he bought a sailing vessel, named it Revenge, “and traveled with his paid crew along the Eastern Seaboard of what is now the United States, capturing other vessels and burning other Barbadian ships.”
