7 More Interesting Things About Me
In distributing the latest award I neglected to post the required 7 interesting things about myself. Never one to downplay my awesomeness I can't let such an oversight go uncorrected.
1. I haven't left the house in more than two months (since November 1st). Not stepped one foot out of the door. Everything I need it brought to me. I feel like an astronaut training for a deep space mission on some days. Surprisingly I have not seen much of a change to my life than before I tried this experiment.
2. I have never taught a kid named Calvin. Of all the thousands of kids I have interacted with in the past 20 years not a single Calvin in the lot. I wonder if my name will die out with each successive generation of children born only to be replaced by those named Paris, Taylor, Miley, or Brittany.
3. I need to have a candy jar on my desk. Caramel hard candies are my favorite but I prefer a variety all mixed together.
4. At various times on my life I have trained to have a career as an actor, a photographer, a radio announcer and a journalist before I began teaching.
5. I have about a hour of killer stand up comedy material prepared for the day when I actually find the courage/desire to go to the open mike night they hold once a month at a local pub. I have always had the ability to make people laugh WITH me when they weren't laughing AT me. As a teacher that skill was critical to my survival.
6. I eat a different flavour of soup everyday. I like to have a bowl of soup before my main meal. It's the way the bourgeois aristocracy did it so that is good enough for me.
7. If I ever got a dog it would only be a pug. I love the way they look like they are always smiling or laughing at me.

Hah!
1) Um, on purpose? Is it because of your injury from a few months back?
2) My brother was gonna name his kid Calvin if it was a boy. But, it wasn't.
3) I like candy. Too much.
4) huh...
5) More power to you!
6) I love soup! Just printed a recipe for Italian Wedding soup that I am eager to make!
7) No more dogs after our Border Collie mix goes bye-bye. But I am going to be getting a pair of rats soon! :)
1. Pretty much on purpose. It's an experiment.
2. No Calvin anywhere. A few athletes here and there, a designer, no big time actors however.
3. I love to haunt the candy aisle at the grocery store. Scoops and scoops of gummy bears.
4. True. I read the news at the top and bottom of the hour every weekend from 6-12am at the local country music station for 2 years when I was in college - was a cadet photographer for many years before then and I wrote columns on cadets for the Canadian Legion magazine.
5. one day...like Fozie Bear
6. Soup mmmmm
7. yeh no doggies for me but if ever I would.
Yeah, um? What's up with #1?
I tried being a dog owner, but it didn't take. Cats only from now on...
Re. #2: Probably!!!
#1 is something that I lovingly wish I could do for a month or two, but if I ever really did it it would probably mean some sort of trouble or serious difficulty was happening.
May i ask what is the goal of your experiment??
I'll get a dog if I ever have a house with a yard.
I could eat borscht (with steak in it, and lots of dill and sour cream, preferably with rye or black olive bread nom nom nom) every day.
To see how connected I really am to the people in my life and if it is worth all the effort I put into them. - that has become the purpose Mark
