Echo And The Bunnymen - Killing Moon

There are some song that take me back to a specific second in time. Add to the fact that this tune is also part of the awesome 'Donnie Darko' soundtrack puts this song right up there for me. It's weird but the cartoon reminded me of this song specifically. I went right to 'You Tube' and there is was. The golden age of video (which DID kill the radio star by the way). The original emo band and you all know how much I loves me some genuine ennui. "It's sorrow is a sweet to me as a rare wine."

Under blue moon I saw you
So soon you'll take me
Up in your arms
Too late to beg you or cancel it
Though I know it must be the killing time
Unwillingly mine

Fate
Up against your will
Through the thick and thin
He will wait until
You give yourself to him

In starlit nights I saw you
So cruelly you kissed me
Your lips a magic world
Your sky all hung with jewels
The killing moon
Will come too soon

Fate
Up against your will
Through the thick and thin
He will wait until
You give yourself to him

Under blue moon I saw you
So soon you'll take me
Up in your arms
Too late to beg you or cancel it
Though I know it must be the killing time
Unwillingly mine

Fate
Up against your will
Through the thick and thin
He will wait until
You give yourself to him

Fate
Up against your will
Through the thick and thin
He will wait until
You give yourself to him
You give yourself to him

La la la la la...

I was such a fan of Echo and the Bunhymen. I loved them in the '80s!

That comic strip is soooo true!

There is really a dividing line between those born before 1980 and the dawn of the video age and those who always grew up with movies on tape or DVD and the access to the internet. I see it in the fact that I just missed the home game craze and the cell phone age also. But I don't use a cell phone so I can pretend I am above all that slavish devotion...the real truth is I just have no one to call.
