S.P.E.C.T.R.E. has always been super-spy James Bond's arch nemesis. It's no surprise that the animal that is used to symbolize that evil group is the cephalopod. How fitting for the 'Special Executive for Counter-intelligence, Terrorism, Revenge and Extortion' to take their inspiration from the most evil creature of the deep. Maybe a little to 'on the nose'.

I miss the inclusion of SPECTRE in the Bond films.
Wish they'd do an updated version of them for the Craig movies.
Didn't they call them Quantum in those two movies. "We have people everywhere." I thought that was the group that had Vesper and were after Bond to join them. Damn I love those last two Bond films. Think I am going to watch them again today.
