Conan O'Brien apparently instructed the rest of the Simpsons writing staff (back in the day) about how much funnier stuff it when it happens in the background (using the kitchen scene from Woody Allen's "Sleeper" as his favorite example).

I love those pics of my buddy too. Blaise is the perfect way to describe him.

Those background scenes are often the funniest. I think of 'Mama' dancing in the background during a game scene in 'The Waterboy' one of the only Adam Sandler movies that I really like.; December 30, 2011 at 9:33 AM
