'Escape Plan' - Coming Soon

Erik Johnson Illustrator said...: Around the time of "Expendables 2" Arnold was talking about a movie he was working on called "The Tomb". I think this is that movie, except with a different name, probably because "Escape Plan", while a very direct title, lets you know that its a "prison break" movie.

Stallone really dominates this trailer. I'm sure when they get closer to the release date, they'll make an alternate trailer with more of his footage. Then again of the two, Stallone is probably the better "hook". While Stallone started out his career big in dramas like Rocky were he can be that identifiable audience avatar. By contrast, the Arnold's best characters are larger than life but very subdued personally. Thats great for a male power fantasy but it can be difficult to connect with for a wide audience most of the time.

"Escape Plan" looks simpler and more rewarding. Especially if you are into the Stallone/Schwarzenegger rivalry.; June 27, 2013 at 12:08 PM
