I could tell you about a fight in the halls of CBC that involved ninja throwing stars and other deadly pointed weapons that others smuggled into the building in the Tickle Trunk and a ratty old guitar case but I don't want to start anything with those who choose to deny the truth. The dark and terrible truth. Mr Dressup became a totally different person after he put on an outfit he pulled out of that haunted trunk of his. It was dressing like a Viet Cong soldier that really broke his mind in the end. We all know what happened after that. It was like being back in the jungle in '72 for him so I can understand his madness, just not the total brutality and remorselessness of it all. Blood and puppet stuffing was everywhere. Children's TV in Canada was never the same again.

So enlighten this ignorant yankee as to who these two fellas are.
They were both Children's performers on the CBC when we were kids. One went off his nut with a machete and killed a bunch of puppets he used to work with. It was a massacre. He was know as Mr Dressup and he was a master of disguise who would pull costumes from his famous evil tickle trunk and assume the role of the characters he was dressed as. One day, he snapped.
The other guy sang lovely children's song that didn't annoy the parents.
His show was Fred Penner's Place and no massacres ever happened on his show.
It's not like Fred Penner was little Miss Innocent either. He was mean when he was drunk.
j-swin, don't believe Cal's balloon juice. Mr Dressup and Fred Penner were Canada's equivalents of your Mr Rogers. Sweet and wholesome to a tooth-achingly fault.
Sure, that is what history wants you to believe but I know the TRUTH.
I dunno, Kal’s version sounds pretty awesome! Was it a horribly blood curdling?
