Not only is she beautiful but she is very funny as Gloria, the trophy wife of Jay (Ed O'Neil) on ABC's 'Modern Family'. I like that they don't write her as some shrill Latin stereotype. She is passionate but can admit when she is wrong. She loves her rich older husband and is not just there for his money. She is a great mother to her son Manny and loves her extended family. The running gag they have going with the crush Phil has on Gloria has led to some of the funniest awkward moments on the show. The writers write the dialogue but it takes great comedic timing to bring those words to life and Sophia handles the comedy with ease. That is why we love her.
Favorite Quote - (After Jay tries to fool Manny into thinking that a racoon and not Jay had killed his turtle.) - "Who are you trying to kid? I am Columbian. I know a staged crime scene when I see one."

I especially love how she goes off the handle and then the next second goes 180 degrees backwards and realizes her misunderstanding.
I have to say, when a spanish speaking person goes off on a person that only speaks english (a la Ricky Ricardo), it's always funny!
