Joss Whedon had already mentioned he wanted to put The Wasp in The Avengers, but there wasn’t really room. We do know that in Avengers 2, there will be Ant Man, who is getting his own movie next summer, and where there’s Ant Man, there’s got to be The Wasp. So where does she come in? Probably in Iron Man 3.

Hmmm, nothing is sexier than a Wasp with an exposed mid-section.
Great cosplay, sir.
She is one of may favorite comic characters and I am looking forward to her either being in the new Ant Man movie or one of the Avengers sequels. My top choice to play the character is Morena Baccarin from Firefly, V, and Homeland and since Joss Whedon is involved there is a good chance that will happen.
I had heard that Ant-Man and Wasp were in the script for The Avengers but there were capital problems with getting their movie going so they substituted in Hawkeye and Black Widow.
Supposedly Hank Pym was supposed to be working on the Tesseract with SHIELD and captured by Loki and brainwashed into building the portal while Janet interrogated Loki to try and get him back. Instead we got pretty much the same situation, only they added Eric Scarsgaard in for the tech knowhow and we missed out on Hank gaining his Giant Man powers to swat down the flying space whales.
Or so I heard.
Wow.... VERY interesting back-story.
Thanks much!
Thats always why Widow had the electro-stringer bracelets as they were originally designed to be "Wasp Stings".
Yeah I saw that it is rumoured that Wasp mat be IM3 possible as Janet and that Ant-Man may show up in the end credits. But who knows.
Apparently this kind of character shifting is not uncommon in the movies. In "Star Trek 2: The Wrath of Khan", Spock was originally supposed to die during Khan first strike at the Enterprise, but a script leak and irate fans caused it to be moved towards the end for a bigger payoff. Thats why Savik serves as science officer on the away team and Spock's only lines for the next half hour are just short status reports that were taken from other character's pages.
I thought they were trying to do something new with this new Star Trek. Why kill Spock again when we don't have the emotional investment in the actor playing him today? If they just plan to bring him back in the third movie I have little faith in this franchise anymore.
