Lisa Mynx sent me a link today about the comet that crashed into Jupiter. It was large enough to leave a visible scar on the surface of the gas giant. We wondered if anything could ignite the gasses of Jupiter. Reminded me of this great series of photos that give you some perspective on how big things actually are in comparison to one another.

Wow!I feel so insignificant.
Hey..you are big time HERE..remember that buddy.
Wow! Antares is massive!
Calvin-Do you think we will find any other Earth type planets that could possibly be colonized one day? Or do you think its a hopeless pipe dream?
Its too large a universe to ever think that we were the only one to develop our type of sentient life. Now can we find them? Until we figure out ways to transverse those distances its a moot point. I imagine them out there picking up our tv and radio signals and seeing and hearing everything from Hitler to the View. Probably why they hide from us as it is. Would you want to deal with us if you could avoid it? And like I always say...if the aliens tasted like chicken...we would Kentucky Fry them so quick. But any colonization of planets like Mars or even the Moon are so far away due to cost and complexity. Wow...that topic always gets me going.
Hawt awesomeness. Is this like that think Zaphod went through - but in a parallel universe - and emerged more smug than evar that he was the most important thing in the Universe?
I'm no Zaphod. I can't even comprehend how little I am. Humility builds character.
Always love seeing this. Everything truly is relative, isn't it? :)
