I don't watch Mad Men. I know I should but I don't. Maybe I don't want to see all the bad things that happen to Joan (played by Hendricks). I loved her on Firefly as the scheaming, untrustworlthy but sexy as hell Saffron who had two really cool appearances. Lighting in a bottle. Who else could I choose on this 'H' of a day?

no shots of her from Firefly?
Blasphemy.
You might really like Mad Men.
It's novelistic (by which I mean that, like The Wire, it requires immersion and a certain amount of close attention over time in order to work).
There's the story and characters (which are good), and there's the gimmick of the advertising campaigns (which frequently use actual products) serve to mirror the foreground stories, the way that the legal cases or criminal investigations reflect the character stories on other programs). But for our generation ("If you recognize X then you're my people" etc.) there's the added bonus of the incredible, endless tapestry of totally-accurate period details.
I don't know if you've got Netflix (is that only an American thing?) but they've got all of it.
I am going to wait until it ends then get into the whole thing. I think it's worth saving like, coincidentaly, was the way I watched THE WIRE and THE SHIELD.
She is excellent in Mad Men. You'll enjoy the series once you do watch it!
I heard a rumor that she had the words "Special Hell" tattooed along her waist.
