Erik Johnson Illustrator said...: This cover is obviously supposed to be "shocking" or at the very least "engaging", but it couldn't look more boring. Its two people kissing (in the most modest-est way possible) at a flat angle. Could you have drawn a close up of the kiss with so as to frame the shocked faces of Betty, Veronica and Josie just below their chins.
At least make an attempt to thrill us!
