Not the greatest name for a superhero but it's what stuck so blame social media. Kinda dumb to have her first name in her superhero name since she wears a mask to protect her secret identity.

It's not the character's name, Cal, it's the name of the book. She's Spider-Woman, but there's already a Spider-Woman comic ;-)
She ought to consult with Jean Grey and Kitty Pryde on how best to spin her real name as her superhero name.
You mean Marvel Girl/Phoenix and Shadowcat?
I just don't know how they ran out of spider names for girls.
