Whirlwind is one of my favorite figures. I just love the whole helmet and metal armor and especially the metal saw blades on each wrist. This one is from the Iron Man line from the early 90s cartoon. I wish I never opened him up but I am most proud of never losing those tiny saws which are the first things to fall off and get vacuumed up. I keep this guy upstairs in my Mother's china cabinet so that he stays in this condition.

I think you have a good taste in receiptionists! I'm more of a DC person myself so I'm not familiar with Whirlwind. He reminds me a little of juggernaut.
Basically. He is like a spinning top with blades and it pretty indestructible so they put him up again the big guns like Iron Man.
