Podcast Research - D List Villains.

Doing the podcast tonight. I could talk comics all day so this one was both fun and easy to come up with. These are the lamest D-list villains of all time. My top four really scrape the bottom of the barrel, idea wise, but with some help maybe a few of them can be saved and reintroduced to the comic loving public.

Crazy Quilt

Crazy Quilt has the rare distinction of not really being a Batman villain but a foe of Robin's. For some lame reason he had it out for the Boy Wonder. In the 80s I remember him showing up several times to fight the second and 'dead' Robin, Jason. Has no real superpower except being about to see in vibrant colors. All his power comes from his color helmet. He cannot be fixed or re-introduced. He just needs to go away.

The White Rabbit

One of Spider-Man's Rogue's Gallery with an animal theme, she is by far the lamest but best looking villain he has ever had. I am convinced she is one of the reasons cosplay is so popular today - people just like to see cute girls in rabbit costumes. I don't know why but I am thankful for it.

No superpowers to speak of but she could be the Harley Quinn of Marvel if used properly. I have a whole great story about her being a cosplayer that I will tell on tonight's podcast.

Stiltman

With such a high center of gravity, stilts are never a good way to get from one point to the next and Stiltman was always a character, who as a kid, made me think that I could defeat. I could just push him over and like an Imperial Walker he would shake and fall to the ground. He was a guy on metal stilts. That's it. How he even made it out of his house in the morning amazes me.

Doctor Bong

Visually impressive, Doctor Bong is a foe of Howard The Duck. I have never seen any action figures of him except for customs and that is a shame. I mean look at this guy. Even his coloring is great. I love the way that even though he is wearing a METAL BELL on his head, he still has facial expressions. That is something that is NEVER explained in the comic. Hopefully with Howard being a part of the Marvel Universe that HIS movie (made in very much the same vein as Ant-Man) will include Doctor Bong.

Stryfe

As much as Cable is the poster child for excess in character design, Stryfe is even worse. All the spikes and sharp edges makes Stryfe look goofy. He doesn't engage in physical combat with anyone so why is he walking around with this overly stylized suit of armor? You know the spikes on his thighs keep him from being about to walk through most normal doorways. But that kind of thing is irrelevant to the man that created him - Rob Liefeld. Don't get me started on the helmet with all it's multiple metal wings. Just useless.

Follow these links to further educate yourselves with some of the other lamest villains of all time. I don't have much argument with either of these lists.

See? Even comics creators have bad days when the creative juices run dry.

Yeh, but some things are unfogiveable because this actually made it into PRINT. It has to pass through several hands to be approved. No excuse for that.
