My Mother Picked Up Watership Down To Read Because She Liked The Bunny On The Cover
Should I tell her the truth that this is not Peter Rabbit with bunnies who dance and wear clothing? The woman reads three books a month so she wanted something different. Just don't get attached to any of the rabbits was my advice to her.

the animated film had more Blood and Death than a lot of the Horror films we watch...
I hope she enjoys it! One of my favourite books. The first time I read it (when I was in university), I stayed up all night to read because I simply could not put it down.
I think she can handle it. She reads books of pilgrim who die in childbirth or smallpox and it just rolls off her back.
I had to read it in Grade 10 English on the base. What a horror show that curriculum with. This and Moby Dick were part of it. It's like I read so many disturbing books that year. When I was allowed to choose one I chose the Godfather by Mario Puza and would not be denied. He owed me.
What happened to Grade 9. Happy books like The Sundowners. Now that was a nice death free story.
Gone with the Wind my friend.
I'm surprised they let you read "The Godfather." It had -- gasp -- SEX SCENES in it! I remember them very well, lol. Sonny banging the bridesmaid up against the wall, etc.
Oh he knew at that point in the year that I was in no mood to be fucked with like my reading list had been fucked with all year. It was the Godfather or open rebellion. My mother wouldn't let me watch the show on TV because of the horses hesd in the bed. I had to rebel in some way. I should have told my Mom he assigned me that book so she could go rip him a new one but I would have been busted.
Gone With The Wind was LONGER than War and Peace. I opted for Mutiny on the Bounty and was happy to go to sea with Captain Blye.
Never read Gone either. Mutiny on the Bounty, good choice. I remember reading Treasure Island in 5th or 6th grade. That started my reading as much as I could get my hands on. My parents encouraged us to read early. So glad they did.
It was radio, TV, movies and books for entertainment and I was lucky to have tons of books too and psycho teachers who forced me to read and often hate the 'classics'. Don't get me started on Lord of the Flies.
Cal, you have the conch.
