Give James Gun His Job Back
When I look at this James Gunn situation I look mostly to intent. Yes, he wrote some nasty tweets YEARS ago when all of us were ignorant about how those 'jokes' or opinions could come back to haunt us one day. I ask you, is Gunn doing stuff like that today? Does he have a reputation in the industry to be another Weinstein or that other hump from Disney? And don't you think if he WAS the person the haters would like to believe he is, that his cast would run as far as they could from this 'toxic' director. No way do they want their reputations ruined by supporting an enemy of the #metoo movement. But when the cast, which includes many women sign an unprecidented letter like this, then maybe we have gone too far on this particular 'witchhunt'. This is a strong endorsement of Gunn and the movement needs to check themself instead of painting all with one brush. That's just how I feel about it. A good man is getting hurt and that is not right. His 'crime' does not warrant his firing.

Humans always seem to take everything to the extreme. Certainly not defending that kind of behavior, but some rationality must come into play. There are degrees of this kind of thing which should be taken into account. A few tweets or adolescent behavior (in totally bad form), to me are different than the Harvey Weinstein type of complete douchebaggery and despicable acts. Just my opinion. We must apply this across the board though. Rosanne Barr tweeted some moronic stuff too. She was booted out big time. Degrees. My opinion.
Yes and the hysterics need to be pumped down. I don't see this as being the same as others who have feel to this movement. I hope he gets his job back like Chris Hardwick did after he was fired.
