Another Remake We Do Not Need

Again I say it. Why not remake a BAD movie or make a YOUNG SNAKE movie but to remake a classic is always a bad move and should never even be attempted. What new can you bring the the viewing experience? How do you improve on the greatness of the John Carpenter original. It offends me that you are making the attempt. I wish the time and energy of many talented people could be put working towards a NEW story.

I'll admit this was not one of my favorite Carpenter films. However, they are threatening to redo Big Trouble in Little China, which is my favorite, and redoing it is just wrong! You're right - why don't they pick a really crappy film to redo?

You can't touch anything Carpenter. They all have their own magic. I love Big Trouble too and even Escape From L.A., vato.

"You may have survived Cleveland. You may have escaped from New York. But THIS is LA vato, and you are going to find, that this fucking city can kill ANYBODY!"

I'd rather them just make another "Escape" film set in the loose continuity of the films rather than try to reboot things. Kind of like Mad Max Fury road where it's just another Max story rather than a reboot/ remake/ etc. That could be fun.

But a remake of Big Trouble in Little China? That's one of my top 5-top 10 favorite films of all time, so I'm quite suspicious of that. There are just too many things about that film that are just lightning in a bottle to really remake it.

I like the next chapter idea - Snakes last ride kind of thing.
