Only One Cassette Could Be Playing On This Walkman In 1982

We all loved this album so much. We even wore the eye shadow when we went out. Couldn't calvin pull of the smokey eye or what? I missed my calling.

I was given this album as a Christmas present ( on vinyl! ) back in the day and was blown away by it. Just a great, great collection of songs.
I always remember an interview with the League's Phil Oakey in a UK pop music magazine called Smash Hits, before the album came out. He was promoting "Dare" and was saying it was the best material the Human League had ever recorded, and that he expected it to be a huge hit. The interviewer wasn't too convinced, citing the band's lack of success with their previous, more experimental, material. Oakey replied "You haven't heard the new songs yet..."

It was good melodic syn pop with cool vocls and musical hooks. I had the album and taped the whole thing on cassette for the eight weeks woking at Cadet Camp. They were right for the times and the age of video.
