The Ancient Egyptians Understood The Power Of The Cat

Now There Are Five Words I Never Thought I Would See Together

Bradley Cooper is Rocket Raccoon

The rumor is true! The Silver Linings Playbook star is diving into Marvel Studios' expanding universe as the voice of Rocket Raccoon. Marvel made the announcement today and this means Cooper is heading into space with Chris Pratt as Peter Quill, Zoe Saldana as Gamora, Dave Bautista as Drax and probably Vin Diesel as the voice of Groot. It was previously confirmed the team's first film will have Ronan the Accuser as the foe, too.

I actually like this idea very much. Brings great star power to one of my favorite properties and soon to be movie spectacular. Rocket is the heart and soul of the Guardians of the Galaxy and I am impressed that other creative people seem to get that point and are giving him the attention he deserves.

Great Comic Costumes - Black Manta

I have always been impressed with the sheer obsession of Black Manta. He couldn't care less about fighting any other hero on Earth than Aquaman. Why do you say? He is just a dick who really, really, really, hates Aquaman. He is the only other person that is worthy of his hate. Manta is jealous of everything that the King of Atlantis has and lives to punish him for being better than Black Mantis. He is also one of the few villains of color in any medium. He was the one who cut off Aquaman's hand and has been in every incarnation that Aquaman has made in comics or animation. How can you not love the simple design of his costume which will tolerate virtually NO alteration over the years. You can't change a thing about it because it's perfect. He is a menacing ocean presence. A pure predator.

My Idea For A Great Road Comedy Movie

Imagine it like Milo and Otis with narration by Dudley Moore if he is still alive. The two cat superstars are accidentally transported thousands of miles away in their carriers by a confusion at a book signing and they have to make their way across country to find their way home. Lots of adventures between the eternally pessimistic Grumpy Cat and the overly optimistic Li'' Bud. Alone they don't have a chance but together they pool their skills and save themselves. All to return to the cushy life of a social media darling. Along the way you can have celebrity cameos (George Clooney has been looking for a cat project) and hijinks aplenty.

And speaking of the classic Milo and Otis...

My Mother The Photographer - Yukon Gold Rush Adventure (Part One)

The last time my mother went to Australia she took all of ten pictures that were any good. She just didn't think that anyone would want to see her trip through her eyes. Don't ask. It's an immigrant thing. So I go on her about documenting her recent Klondike Gold Rush Adventure in the Yukon and she surprised me (something that happens everyday) with a real excellent batch of pictures and cool souvenirs.

I was really impressed with so many of the pictures she took as she went from Kelowna to Whitehorse Yukon. Three days on the bus. A hellish experience for me but she likes to relax and just watch it all go by. Why fly over it all when she can drive through it. So she took pictures out the window as she went. Learning about the camera and how to check her work. Her eye is excellent even if sometimes her technique is lacking. But she was using a digital camera from a bus window, not bad for a woman who grew up at a time when they had no phone or radio on the farm near Sundown Manitoba.

I picked out my favorites to share. It will be cool to sent these to my niece and nephew.
