"Remember, Wherever You Go, There You Are"
When you have a particular movie in BETA, VHS, DVD and BLUE RAY it goes without saying that its one of the coolest and most popular movies ever to be shown on the big screen in the Cave of Cool. I remember watching it for the first time with my mouth opened the whole time. It's that awesomely unexpected a viewing experience. I can't watch anything John Lithgow is in without waiting for him to call someone a 'monkey boy'. Add 'Robocop' to the list and Peter Weller have fulfilled his cool quota for one lifetime.
And can we all agree that these ending credits are the best EVER? Even Jeff Goldblum in the most ridiculous crime fighting costume put on screen can't ruin the awesomeness of the footage.

And don't forget the awesome closing credits!
Best closing credits EVER! In fact I am gonna post that. Thanks.
I haven't seen this flick in YEARS!!!
good stuff, and based in NJ!
i loved loved loved that movie!
Agreed! Best closing credits ever! I forced my fr....err...I shared this flick with my young friend Brittany last night (she had never heard of it at age 26)and she enjoyed it!
This is the only pop culture franchise whose fan club I actually joined as an adult! I still have all of my WORLD WATCH ONE newsletters and one of my TEAM BANZAI stickers! I should put that on my car!
You know they shot test footage for a TV series a few years ago, right? None of the original cast but the Jetcar was in it!
Its a cool concept that they could have made an excellent TV show out of. ANYTHING could happen. You could have strange creatures, aliens, bizarre tech, time travel, magic and science with hip 80s sensibilies and skinny ties - a show that winked at the audience and didn't take itself too seriously like the movie. Constantly we would be discovering a NEW talent Buckaroo had in his skill set - escape artist, gourmet chef, braille reader, duck caller, that slowing your heart rate thing to fake your own death ect... If I wrote it there would be tons of inside jokes (like every alien having JOHN as part of their name -John Ya Ya, John Big Booty, John Many Johns) and references to pop culture like Japanese manga, killer robots, space travel ect...AND we would never find out what the hell the watermelon was there for. The answer to the question - "Why is that watermelon there?" would always get the same answer - "I'll tell you later" but he NEVER would. K..now I am pissed that no one took the concept beyond that movie. Sure was one of kind. I have NEVER met anyone who didn't like it.
"You'll have to go to do this Perfect Tommy."
"Why Me?"
"Because you're perfect."
Okay..and my FAVORITE PART...- Lord Warfin (Lithgow) berating his own people like he has a habit of doing.
"John Big Bootie, you are the weekest individual I know!" Pause to allow Lord Warfin to turn his back...2...3...and JBB gives him the agriest but most cowardly behind Warfin's back middle finger salute in movie history. THAT is brilliant acting. He said volumes with that one action. K...I have to watch this movie again right now. Hey..I am posting in comment now..I ROCK
God I wish I still had all the stuff the studio sent me when I joined the fan club back in the day.
The best part was the whole bit about Rawhide not really being dead, it was just a plot to infiltrate the World Crime League...
I'm going to have to watch this again pretty soon. Like this weekend.
So you are a fangirl from way way back?
